The Basics Of Colon Health

When it comes to colon health, the biggest factor is bowel problems. These problems can cause definceis in one’s nutrition, regardless of how good one’s diet may be. Poor eating can cause sticky fecal matter and when it is not gotten rid of fast enough, it can deposit along the walls of the colon. This is why constipation, even mild forms of it can be serious.

When the colon works normally, the waste is taken out of the colon between 18 to 24 hours, but when it isn’t working properly, it may not be ejected for days. This can build up along the walls and not get cleaned out for months or sometimes even years. This can become inflamed and can lead to spastic or inflamed colon, otherwise known as Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS.

What does remain in the body begins to decay and it releases toxins and poisonous gases into the blood and the organs and tissues. The blood stream itself can actually become polluted which can prevent it from getting rid of cell waste. It basically creates autointoxication and malnution. When a body is deficient, it becomes toxic from the fermentation of undigested food. It can set up ammonia, liver toxins, carcinogens, among other conditions. In this state, the cells of the body can’t get nutrients because it is filled with waste. It causes the body to become sluggish and even depressed.

However, many do not do it for one reason or another and choose other methods such as deodorants, powders, mouthwashes, colognes to cover up the smell that is coming from fecal matter.

There can be several reasons for why the bowels can become impacted. One reason is there may just not be enough water consumed which causes the stool to become dry. Also, if the problem is ignored it becomes dry and constipation results.

Often, someone who is sedentary can have this problem as they need exercise for their bowels to work properly. A bad diet can also cause impacted bowels. To keep a colon healthy, a good idea is to eat a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables with a limitation of white bread and white sugar.

Many choose to have a colonic treatment or colon cleansing to get their colons back on track. Even with people who have healthy colons, there have been reports of rock hard discs, dark lumpy strings, brown mucous, and sometimes even tape worms.

The two types of colon cleansing are enemas and colonics. Enemas are those that are self-administered and colonics that are administered at a clinic.

If choosing a colonic, it’s best to do research and choose a tech who knows his or her stuff before going through. Also become familiar with the pros and cons of the treatment.
